STRAY was born from a shared vision to redefine activewear in South Africa. We wanted premium-quality pieces with elevated style, exceptional comfort and performance that could take you from the gym to your everyday life.
It all started at the boxing studio...
One day, Simone walked in looking for a session, and Candice couldn't help but notice this stylish blonde with impeccable taste. The activewear, the jacket, the shoes, every detail just worked. That first impression sparked a friendship that would eventually become something much bigger than either of us imagined.
For Simone, the feeling was mutual. Candice had an undeniable presence, edgy, effortlessly cool and incredibly driven. From the very beginning, there was a connection built on shared values, ambition and a love for style.
That Dream Became STRAY
As we got to know each other, we realised we shared the same vision: to create activewear that makes a statement. We wanted premium-quality pieces with an elevated look and feel, something we simply couldn't find locally. So, instead of settling, we decided to create it ourselves.

Like so many women, we live in activewear. From the school run and morning coffee to meetings, errands and workouts, we wanted pieces that looked just as good outside the gym as they did inside it. Activewear that felt luxurious, performed beautifully and made you feel confident the moment you put it on.
Every fabric and colour has been carefully sourced from Brazil and manufactured locally with exceptional attention to detail. Countless samples, fittings, adjustments and honest feedback from an incredible community of women helped shape every collection. We obsessed over every seam, every fit and every finish because we believe confidence starts with how you feel in what you wear.

Behind STRAY are two women who bring very different strengths to the table, but together, they're the perfect team. Together, they combined fashion expertise with real-world performance testing to create activewear that doesn't ask you to choose between style and function. Meet Candice
Lives and breathes fitness. As a boxing coach, she's trained in countless activewear brands and knows exactly what works and what doesn't. From support and comfort to fit, durability and performance, every STRAY piece has been put through its paces in the gym before making it into the collection.
Meet Simone
Simone has spent years in the fashion and retail industry, with a keen eye for buying, trends and quality. She knows what women want to wear, what makes a garment feel premium, and how to source exceptional fabrics and finishes that elevate every collection.
STRAY is so much more than an activewear brand to us...
It's a dream built on friendship, passion and a willingness to take a leap of faith. We certainly didn't have all the answers. We were just two blonde bombers (thanks, Trev!) with a big dream, a shared vision and enough determination to make it happen. Looking back, sometimes that's all you need.
